With old Buddhist sanctuaries,
walled urban communities, flawless old-style plants, an enormous lake, and

History
Beihai Park was initially
worked in 938 by Emperor Huitong of the Liao Dynasty (907-1125). Later during
the period from 1166 to 1179 Beihai Park was changed to a supreme summer castle
for Emperor Dating of the Jin Dynasty (11115-1234).
Subsequent to mollifying China
and putting a great part of the nation to the sword, Kublai Khan utilized Beihai
Park as the focal point of the Yuan Dynasty's new capital Dadu in 1274. Later
when the Ming Dynasty took control in 1368, Dadu was renamed as Beijing and
Beihai Park was changed to a royal residence garden. Later in 1420 when the
Forbidden City was finished, Beihai Park was associated with the Forbidden City
and the foundation of the magnificent city.
The last change made to Beihai
Park was broad remaking by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. Sovereign
Qianlong was one of China's longest authoritative head's (1735-1796) and the
last extraordinary ruler, The recreation center was not opened to people in
general until 1925 after the establishment of the Communist Party of China.
Grounds and attractions
Beihai Park is right around 70
hectares in size and over a large portion of this region is secured by Beihai
lake. In the focal point of the lake is a huge island or islet considered Jade
Flowery Islet that holds a significant number of the parks fundamental
attractions. The recreation center holds at any rate 30 noteworthy locales so I
have just included underneath the significant destinations that are most worth
visiting.
Yongan Temple or Temple of
Eternal Peace
Situated on Jade Flowery Islet
and overwhelming the recreation center's horizon, the Yongan Temple is the
fundamental site in Beihai Park and holds the White Dagoba which is the image
of Beihai Park.
The sanctuary was first worked
in 1651 by the primary sovereign of the Qing Dynasty in line with a Tibetan
lama. The sovereign allowed the lama's solicitation as a method for
demonstrating he was a faithful Buddhist and to join the diverse ethnic
gatherings in China that had Buddhism as a typical religion. The sanctuary is
worked in the side of Baita Hill and has three levels.
The primary level has three
structures, the Bell Tower toward the east, the Drum Tower toward the west and
the Falundian (Dhamma Wheel Hall) in the middle. The Faludian is the fundamental
structure in the sanctuary and contains pictures of the Sakyamuni Buddha, eight
incredible Bodhisattvas and eighteen arhats.
The subsequent level is a
patio at the highest point of a precarious trip of stairs. A number of
structures encompass the patio and the fundamental structure there is the Pu A the lobby which houses pictures of the organizer of the Tibetan Yellow Hat Sect of
Buddhism and his two primary supporters.

The third level is a stage at
the highest point of the slope that holds the White Dagoba which is
additionally called Bai Tai or White Pagoda. The pagoda is 35.9 meters and was
raised in 1651 when the sanctuary was assembled. The pagoda was harmed by earth
shake and revamped three times in 1679, 1730 and 1976 during the Tangshan earth
shudder even in the wake of being strengthened in 1964.
The pagoda is made of white
stone and is enriched by inscriptions of the sun, moon, and fire. The highest
point of the pagoda holds a huge adornment with 14 bronze ringers hanging of
it. This trimming is plainly obvious in all the photographs of the White
Dagoba. A mystery hallowed place in the pagoda holds Buddhist sacred writings,
the remaining parts of incinerated priests, their mantles and their donations
bowls.
Tiancheng (City of Harmony)
On a little raised slope close
to the southern passage of the recreation center is mind-boggling encompassed
by 4.6 meter high dividers called Tiancheng City. Tiancheng City was initially
worked during the Jin Dynasty just about 900 years back as a piece of the
Daning Palace and has since experienced numerous redesigns and changes. The
latest remaking was in 1690 after the principle assemble was demolished in 1669
The city has an edge of 276
meters and has an encased region of 4,500 square meters. The city itself just
contains four noteworthy and four minor structures.
The fundamental structure is
the Hall of Divine Light that holds a 1.6-meter tall Buddha made out of a
solitary bit of Jade that is implanted with valuable stones. The statue was a
blessing to Emperor Guangxu by a Cambodian King. The statue was harmed by
outside brutes (Eight-Nation Alliance) in the battling for Beijing in 1900. The
corridor is, for the most part, vacant and reserved to tourists with a special
raised area and (I'm speculating) the statue at the back.
The other primary fascination
here is the Jade Jar made in 1265. Kublai Khan put a container in a corridor on
Jade Flowery Islet that he utilized as a wine vessel for his galas and
gatherings. That container was lost not long after and not found until 1745 and
a structure in 1749. The Jade Jar has the state of an oval, 0.7 meters high,
has a circuit of 4.93 meters and weighs 3.5 ton. Simply envision how much wine
the Jade Jar held and the hangovers they had!
Tiancheng City is additionally
the home of the Marquis of Shade. A 20 meter high Chines pine tree more than
800 years of age that kept the Emperor Qianlong cool on a sweltering summer day
and headed out his weariness during one of his visits. In appreciation, the
sovereign allowed the fortunate tree the title of the Marquis of Shade.
Nine Dragon Wall or Screen
In antiquated China, three
dividers or screens were made that demonstrated nine winged serpents playing in
mists. These dividers are made out of coated tiles of seven distinct hues. The
other two dividers are in the Forbidden City and in Datong City (Shanxi
Province). The divider was worked in 1756 and is made of 424 of the coated
tiles. In contrast to the next two dividers, the Beihai Park divider has nine
winged serpents on the two sides not only one side.
The whole park is canvassed in
captivating and fascinating locales, structures and smaller than usual gardens
so after you've seen these three top attractions there is still a great deal to
do. A few attractions, however, are incredibly normal and I can't resist feeling
in those spots that the recreation center administration just adorned a touch
of history and set up a ticket counter to get more cash-flow.
The Ancient Caves of the Jade
Islet is a great case of this. The extra charge is 5rmb and the old caverns
take an entire 3 minutes to cross and that is strolling all-around gradually.
The caverns are additionally brimming with extremely kitschy statues that
resemble Chinese greenhouse little persons. Normally the cavern exits into a
shop.
There is even a royal position
like seat toward the north of Yongan Temple on the Jade Flowery Islet watched
by an elderly person who charges individuals 5rmb to snap a picture sitting on
it. I discovered this extremely entertaining so snapped a picture of the seat
and its silly sticker price. Not one to neglect an open door by, the old woman
saw me snapping the picture of the seat and demanded I pay 5rmb for the
privilege. I needed to keep running off down the slope to get away from her.
So my suggestion is to see the
three locales recorded above, wander around the islet and the northwest the segment of the lake, has an incredible and simply disregard the less
fascinating spots.
Arriving
The least demanding and most
fascinating approach to reach Beihai Park is to get the metro to Tiananmen
Square west station and walk. Leave one of the stations northern leaves that
will be by a street traveling north called Nanchang Street. Nanchang road pursues
the channel on the west side of the Forbidden City and completes alongside the
southern exit of Beihai Park.
The walk will take around 10
to 20 minutes and give incredible perspectives outwardly of the Forbidden City
and a portion of the hutongs in that piece of Beijing.
Tickets and Times
The primary piece of the recreation center is open structure 6am to 10pm during the pinnacle summer
season. The ticket cost is 10rmb and a considerable lot of the destinations in
the recreation center will likewise charge somewhere in the range of 3rmb and
10rmb.
Authoritatively you need 2 to
4 hours to see Beihai Park. By and by to unwind and truly appreciate it, you
should plan to be there for at any rate 4 hours.
